Eireala is the Creator Goddess of the world Mahoukai (a world found in the time trunk HNK12785-3).

Legend
The legend of Eireala began so far in the distant past (10,000 years B.P. or longer), no one is quite sure of the truth of its genesis. <blockquote>"Mitsuko." Ariela locked eyes with the mage, who squirmed, slightly. "You don't think I'm really the Goddess, do you?"
"Um." Mitsuko looked ready to bolt, but stayed seated, staring at Ariela. Then she shrugged. "I don't know who you are. I do know you are vastly more powerful than me. You held off my strongest spell of destruction – the one Kosho's red dragon had trouble with – like you were bored, just checking the finish on your nails, and waiting for me to be done. And then were ready to repeat if I could have built up enough mana fast enough to fire again. Moreover, I can't deny you have the ability to perform the Miracle, since I witnessed it. So either you are the Goddess Incarnate, or," and she shrugged again, "a seriously talented magic user who is more powerful than any other mage we know of in the entire magical history of Mahoukai."

Ariela smiled, and lessened the intensity of her gaze. "After all, could I have been nothing more?" she asked, gently. "Thousands of years of myth-building turned a girl with strong magical ability and a unique magic stone into a Creator Goddess, She from Whom all goodness flows. Who is to say, at this late date?"

"Not I," confessed Mitsuko. "That was long before even I was born. But as I pointed out, you carry your own credence."</blockquote>Her "credence", as Mitsuko puts it, is her ability to perform the Miracle unique to Eireala, which is the casting of [Blessing of Light].

For many years, young blonde girls have been showing up at the main Cathedral in the city of Eireala-to, dressed as the Goddess and carrying reasonable facsimiles of the Goddess's Torch (which contains the magic white stone) and Book (the scriptures of the Church). They are able to pull of these cosplays because every Church of the Goddess has a statue of Eireala wearing robes similar to that of a Greek goddess, and carrying the Torch and Book. Unfortunately they are always asked, and are unable, to perform the Miracle, and because this failure unmasks them, they are thrown into the local jail and left to sit until Eireala should come back to judge them (the "Return"). Which in essence means a life sentence. On the other hand, this is better than being given the penalty for identity theft, which in the Empire is death.

Ariela as Eireala
After her first mission to "fix" a world so it can be realized into the True Universe (see The Lion and the Darkness, Book One: The Sardristran Martyr), the Great Simulation's avatar, Beam, sends her to "fix" the the world known as Mahoukai (The Lion and the Darkness, Book Two: The Goddess of Mahoukai). To do this, she appears as the Goddess in the main Cathedral, during a worship service. She is challenged by the priest to prove she is who she says she is, and in response she performs the Miracle. After this, she is accepted as being the Goddess.

The actual problem to fix is a sealed agreement between the Demon Lord and the Church, which in effect binds the Demon Lord (and by extension, his minions) to leave the Empire's lands west of the Eastern Range alone. Ariela, knowing from gaming, manga, and anime that Demon Lords cannot be trusted not to break agreements, argues with the priest that the "seal" on the agreement can't possibly be sufficient to prevent him from breaking free at some point. The priest disagrees, but points her to the Great Mage of the South, who personally sealed the agreement, long ago. Ariela then contracts with an adventuring party to escort her to the tower of the Great Mage.
