The Great Mages of Antiquity

The Great Mages of Antiquity are, simply put, four elven mages of Mahoukai who, due to their longevity as elves, have been in the magic business for a very long time.
They are as follows:
- Mitsuko, the Great Mage of the South
- Kageyuki, the Great Mage of the North
- Miharu, the Great Mage of Sea and Sky
- Sanzuki, the Great Mage of Mountains and Forests
All four of them are at least four millennia old, and were present when Mitsuko sealed the agreement between the Church of the Blessed Goddess Eireala and the Demon Lord. They also all serve from time to time on the faculty of the University of Magic at Mahoumachi.
Later on, they are joined by Akane, a human Mage who specializes in fire and explosion magic, who becomes the Great Mage of Fire.
